Sete Star Sept is a Japanese noisegrind duo from Tokyo, renowned for their relentless energy and prolific output. Formed in 2004 by drummer Ryosuke Kiyasu (formerly of The Endless Blockade), the band evolved into a two-piece in 2009 with the addition of bassist and vocalist Kae Takahashi. Their music is characterized by a fusion of grindcore and harsh noise, delivering intense sonic assaults through distorted bass lines, explosive drumming, and visceral vocals. The band's name "Sete Star Sept" comes from a term used in pachinko, "7 star 7”. It has no meaning. "Sete" and "Sept" mean “seven” in Portuguese and French, respectively.

Their discography is extensive, boasting over 170 releases, including numerous splits, EPs, and full-length albums. Notable works like Beast World and Visceral Tavern showcase their signature style: brief, chaotic tracks filled with blast beats and distorted bass lines. For instance, Beast World features 23 songs in just 11 minutes, epitomizing their rapid-fire approach.

Sete Star Sept's live performances are equally intense, often described as "merciless audio terrorism." They have toured extensively worldwide, bringing their raw and unfiltered sound to audiences across various continents.

In interviews, the band has expressed a commitment to pushing the boundaries of their genre. Kiyasu once stated, "I just keep thinking about how to play more fucked up song for future," reflecting their dedication to evolving their sound. For fans of extreme music, Sete Star Sept offers a unique and uncompromising experience, blending the raw aggression of grindcore with the experimental edge of noise music.
