Atomgevitter is a multinational hardcore punk band originating from Glasgow, Scotland, with members from both the UK and Germany. Formed in the early 2000s, the band is known for their high-energy performances and a blend of thrashcore, powerviolence, and punk influences. Their music often features humorous and satirical lyrics, reflecting a DIY ethos and a commitment to underground punk culture.

Their discography includes several EPs and splits, such as Hiroshemo (2008) and collaborations with bands like Filthpact and Easpa Measa. These releases showcase Atomgevitter's penchant for short, fast-paced tracks that combine aggressive instrumentation with witty commentary.

In 2011, Atomgevitter released Thrash Ritual, a comprehensive discography album compiling 40 tracks from various recording sessions between 2005 and 2010. The album includes previously unreleased material, tracks from their split with Filthpact, the Hiroshemo EP, compilation appearances, and live recordings. This collection serves as a testament to the band's evolution and their contribution to the hardcore punk scene.

Critics have noted that while the album's 40 tracks can be overwhelming when listened to in one sitting, breaking it into parts allows listeners to appreciate the band's speed, catchy riffs, and wild vocals. The album's presentation, including a 24-page booklet with lyrics and anecdotes, adds depth to the listening experience.

Thrash Ritual was released by Revulsion Records in Malaysia and was part of Atomgevitter's Southeast Asia tour in 2011. For enthusiasts of high-intensity hardcore punk with a satirical edge, Atomgevitter's Thrash Ritual provides a comprehensive look into the band's dynamic and spirited approach to the genre.

Review by Matt Average, Razorcake:

Thrash thrash thrash! Forty songs of sonic speed trials, many unreleased, remastered, and more. Very 625 style: fast, a bit whacked out, straddling hardcore, punk, and metal crossover. I must admit, it’s hard to listen to forty songs of this style without it blurring into one song. Near impossible. I listened to the Larm discography straight through a few times just to see if I could do it, and it changed me. Not in a good way. My attention span shortened. This is doing the same thing. I do like this, but, fuck, it gets to be a slog. I recommend listening to this in parts for full effect. Then you can appreciate the speed, how they can throw in some catchy and crunching riffs, and the wild, strangled vocals. This disc includes the material from their split with Filthpact, their Hirosehmo EP, a comp track, some live stuff, and mostly unreleased (as mentioned at the top of this paragraph).
