HIJO AGRIO is a trio of psychedelic/ noise rock Paysandú, Uruguay and currently resided in Montevideo. Hijo Agrio is formed by Darvin Elizondo (guitar-vocals), Martín Viola (drums) and Javier Gerfauo (bass). Hijo Agrio means Acid Son in English. This debut full length album features 10 tracks of dark and eerie atmosphere, guitar solos and swirling Hawkwind-style phaser distorted riffing, creepy bass line structure, shouting vocals and heavy psychedelia journey into the outer space for over 52:56 minutes. Perhaps comparisons with Pink Floyd or Joy Division are slightly outdated and overshrink, but this is one of the best approaches that makes you a Son of Acid overnight. Despite the darkness and heavy psych space, they have a nice artwork folded in the sleeves. Fans of At The Drive-In, Sparta, The Mars Volta, Pink Floyd, Joy Division or Harkwind would dig this!
