Stay Shitty (Fuzz Fuzz Fuzz Baby) by PenisxVibrator is a chaotic, tongue-in-cheek, yet sharply aggressive slab of Punk A Go Go Grind ‘n’ Roll mayhem that tears through genre conventions with irreverence and raw energy. Originally released in 2014, the debut was in CD-R format. The recording session was their first time meeting, first time jamming, first time recording and the outcome is this debut release (done in a 2-hour meeting, mixed overnight, printed and burned in a few copies of CD-R the next morning. Ten months later, the first cassette version was released under France label Nuclear Alcoholocaust — 60 copies were made. This "Warcat" tape version was released in 2015, contained an extra track from the session, instead of 17 tracks in previous releases. This album captures the spirit of Malaysian underground grindcore with a twist of sleaze, humor, and old-school punk attitude.
PenisxVibrator, known for their provocative name and outrageous stage antics, played a short but impactful role in the KL grind underground from 2015–2017. The line up comprises Epul Rikard (fuzz bass, Repulsive Regurgitation Zine editor), Zeezam Scum (vocals, 265 Distro), Aizat Tarmizi (guitar, Keladak, Succubus, Iron Moth) and Cdoth Jahanam (drums, Jalan Sehala). Stay Shitty is their only most prominent release to date — an explosive, no-frills barrage of grindcore filth, punk attitude, and groove-laden chaos.
Musically, PenisxVibrator blend elements of classic grindcore, rock ‘n’ roll swagger, a go go and hardcore punk filth into something both ferocious and fun. Think early Napalm Death, Noise A Go Go's and Agathocles getting milk drunk with Zeke, Motörhead, and a dash of Anal Cunt’s irreverent edge.
Expect: Short, punchy tracks (often around 1 minute); blistering blast beats alternating with '50s-'60s rock n roll beats; downtuned, fuzzed-out guitars and harsh fuzz bass; dirty, growled vocals layered with punkish yells and screams; and groovy riffs sandwiched between walls of noise.
The production is raw but not muddy — just dirty enough to keep it real. It sounds like a recording made in a basement with beer cans strewn across the floor — and that’s exactly what it should sound like. Don’t expect political manifestos or deep social commentary — PenisxVibrator wears their vulgarity and absurdity like a badge of honor. Lyrical themes revolve around: hedonism, rebellion, parody of macho metal tropes, anti-elitism in the scene, staying shitty and proud of it. This band doesn’t take itself too seriously, but that doesn’t mean they’re not serious about making noise. That said, beneath the humor and filth is an undercurrent of anti-pretension, a middle finger to self-serious metalheads and fake punks alike.
PenisxVibrator were never aiming for mainstream attention or even long-term impact — and they did not leave any marks on Malaysia’s DIY grindcore and punk scene. However, Stay Shitty became a cult favorite among noise punks and grind freaks who appreciated the band’s refusal to conform.
The band disbanded in 2017, but Stay Shitty remains a grimy, hilarious, and oddly endearing time capsule of that period. A fast, filthy, and fun grind ‘n’ roll punk record that’s as much about attitude as it is about mere blastbeats and a go go. Stay Shitty is for fans of DIY grindcore who like their noise with a side of milk, sleaze, and self-deprecating sarcasm.
