Tripping Haze Ceremony (THC)
Indicat — Full-Length Album, CD

Tripping Haze Ceremony's sophomore album, Indicat, released in September 2024, stands as a formidable entry in the stoner doom genre, showcasing the Malaysian trio's evolution and depth.

Indicat immerses listeners in a dense, sludgy soundscape characterized by downtuned riffs, deliberate pacing, and a raw, live-recorded aesthetic. The album opens with the title track, featuring droning guitar noise overlaid with sampled narration about marijuana experiments on army veterans, setting a psychedelic and introspective tone.

Tracks like "Sabbath’s Bell" and "Red Eyes Downer" delve deeper into the band's heavy, fuzz-laden sound, blending elements of doom and stoner metal with a touch of occult ambiance. "Curse of the Witches’ Grave" offers a haunting instrumental interlude, reminiscent of Italian horror film scores, showcasing the band's versatility.

The album draws inspiration from classic doom and stoner metal acts, with nods to Black Sabbath and Electric Wizard evident in its composition and atmosphere. The use of unsettling audio samples and themes of occultism and psychedelia contributes to the album's dark and immersive experience.

Critics have praised Indicat for its authentic representation of stoner doom, highlighting its raw production, cohesive songwriting, and atmospheric depth. The album is noted for capturing the essence of the genre while infusing it with the band's unique perspective and cultural background.
